2025 Puyallup City Council Tax Increases, Staffing Cuts & Spending on Police Station

In 2025, Puyallup City Council raised property taxes by 6% and increased utility fees significantly, while also cutting seven positions. The council decided to rent a renovated police station for $73.5 million over 30 years instead of using city-owned land for a cheaper option. Puyallup Voters for Integrity (PV4I) is conducting surveys to gauge resident awareness and opinions on these tax increases as well as potential impacts on elections. Surveys are specific to each district, focusing on incumbents and challengers. PV4I will provide regular updates on survey results to promote accountability among elected officials.
